Here’s something most people don’t know: because I’m running as an independent, I have to collect thousands of signatures from registered voters in NY-1 just to earn the right to appear on the ballot in November. Republicans and Democrats? They only need half as many signatures. The two parties wrote those rules to protect themselves from competition.
I could do what campaigns usually do: send strangers to knock on your door unannounced, clipboard in hand, and pressure you to sign. That’s the standard playbook.
I’m not doing that. It’s obnoxious and intrusive in 2026. It’s exactly the tone-deaf, transactional politics I’m running against.
Here’s what I’m doing instead:
Option 1: Become a witness: Want to do more? Take a petition sheet and collect signatures from your neighbors on your block, in your building, or at your kid’s game. I’ll give you everything you need. The sheets, the instructions, and my personal contact if you have questions. You know these people. That’s how grassroots actually works.
Option 2: I’ll come to you: If you’re a registered voter in NY-1 and want to sign my petition, reach out and I’ll come to you at a time that works for you. No pressure, no clipboard ambush at your front door. Just me, you, and a conversation if you want one.
The petition window is April 14 – May 19, 2026. If you believe Long Island deserves an independent voice in Washington, I need you.
Every Signature Counts.
Want to participate? Request a petition copy. We’ll get it to you fast along with the proper instructions on how to fill it out.
